ABOUT THE BRIDGE GOLF FOUNDATION

SCROLL

The Bridge Golf Foundation (BGF) is a sports-based youth development program centered on golf. We provide a daily after-school and summer sports program as an organizing principle for academic betterment and improved college readiness for underserved youth attending public high schools in the City of New York. Additionally, all young men attend our "caddie camp" during the summer months at The Bridge.

We started out with plastic golf clubs at a Harlem YMCA. Eventually, we moved into our own leased premises with three state-of-the-art golf simulators – the same equipment used in The Bridge’s own Learning Center. As of today, we have over thirty students enrolled full-time in our daily program and support two Varsity Golf Teams in the Public School Athletic League of New York. Earlier this month, we commenced construction on an expansion that will nearly double the size of our current facility in Harlem.

Our PSAL teams have qualified for the playoffs and the Individual City Championship 3 years in a row. In 2025, our first student-athlete qualified for the New York State Federation Championship.

In 2021, we opened our new living complex designed by Roger Ferris + Partners here at The Bridge. More than twenty of our high schoolers, plus our program graduates who are in college and return to us as counselors, were in residence here, working in our golf operations as paid interns and caddies. We see the difference we are making.

Today, you too can see it, as several of these young men will be working here at the event. There is also a BGF information booth. Please take a few moments to learn more about what we do and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and X.

When you are back in the city, come visit us at 31-33 W. 116th Street (between 5th and Lenox) and take a lesson with one of our PGA teaching pros. Our facility is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
