1957 GAZ "Volga" M-21V

This car is completely unique- it is the only Series 1 Volga in America. It was built in the Soviet Union by the GAZ Factory.

It has special early features exclusive to early 1957 cars, and it is one of only 7 known remaining examples in the world.

It underwent a 4-year ground-up restoration and required 3 donor cars to restore it to 100% original factory specs. Every nut and bolt is factory correct.

This is a one-owner car, it spent most of its life on the outskirts of Moscow in the hands of the director of an industrial plant, just mere miles from my hometown.

Back in the day, the Volga was the most luxurious car a Soviet private citizen could buy. However, most never got the chance. It took 10 years' worth of an average salary without spending a dime on food, clothing, or shelter to afford it. Then, a person needed special permission from the government to enter a 10-15 year long queue to purchase the car. Many Volgas were rather given out as a reward for achievements in Science, Culture, Technology, Space Exploration, Art, Engineering, or the Military.

Additionally, this car was recently featured in two seasons of FX's hit TV show - "The Americans" among several newspaper and magazine publications.
