1996 Audi RS2

This 1995 Audi RS2 Avant, "the Audi that is a Porsche," was acquired by its current and 4th owner in Southampton, NY, in September, 2026. Originally driven in Monaco (first owner), and then France (second owner--an Audi mechanic) this RS2 was imported to the United States in August 2020 and sold to its third owner, a Porsche enthusiast, in Southampton, NY.

The car is one of 2,891 built during a 16-month production run that ended in July 1995, and is finished in silver over black leather upholstery. Collaboratively designed as a joint venture between Audi and Porsche and based on Audi's B4/8C platform, it received the internal designation of P1. It featured the most powerful version of Audi's inline-five cylinder turbocharged engine. It represents Audi's first "RS" model, and the first of their high-performance Avants. Power is provided by a turbocharged 20-valve 2.2-liter inline-five mated to a six-speed manual transaxle and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system with a Torsen center differential and a locking rear differential. Equipment includes 17″ Cup wheels, red Porsche-branded brake calipers, black roof rails, automatic climate control, power-adjustable heated Recaro seats (that fold forward), and a factory cassette stereo. The Cup wheels, brake calipers, mirrors, and turn signals are all from the Porsche parts bin--and can be found on the 993 variant of the 911. The rear tailgate is inspired by the 964.
