1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350

1965 Shelby GT350 #5S380 is a historically documented and well-preserved 1965 example of Carroll Shelby’s legendary performance Mustang. Number 380 out of the 562 that were manufactured, it was originally shipped by Ford from the San Jose plant on May 25, 1965, it was received by Shelby American the next day. Work on the car began on June 4 and was completed by June 10, 1965. It was ordered on July 8 and shipped to Harr Motor Co. in Worcester, Massachusetts on July 12. The dealership was invoiced a total of $3,864.90, which included Cragar wheels ($214), freight ($103.90), and free LeMans stripes. Payment was received on August 30, 1965.

#5S380 was sold to its first owners, Philip and Irene Carbonneau of Grosvenordale, Connecticut, on October 19, 1965. On October 11, 1972, the car was acquired by Thomas Hyde of Northborough, Massachusetts. Decades later, it underwent a professional restoration by Cobra Automotive in 2015–2016. The car was proudly shown at SAAC-42 in Indianapolis on June 9, 2017, where it earned 2nd Place in the 1965 Shelby Class in the Popular Vote Car Show. In 2019, #5S380 was entered into the prestigious Boston Cup Concourse where it won Best in Class in the classics car division.

#5S380 is a superb example of early Shelby performance, complete with documented provenance, restoration pedigree, and concourse recognition.
