2024 McLaren Artura

A collaboration between motorsport and contemporary art, DART (Drivers Art Racing Team) was co-founded to radically increase visibility for women in both industries. The car races under the number #44—a nod to the fact that only 4% of drivers in professional motorsports and 4% of artists represented at auction are women. The car, race suits, and helmets were all designed by renowned artist Mickalene Thomas - making it the first of its kind. DART fields all-female driver lineups in elite endurance races like the 24 Hours of Dubai, while also exhibiting the car and gear globally as collectible artworks. At the end of the season, the entire collection is sold to fund the next year’s artist commission and racing campaign—making DART a self-sustaining, mobile platform for cultural change.
