1972 Porsche 911
Upon researching the history of this car when acquired in 2010, the owner traced it back to Tom Yang, noted vintage Ferrari restorer, who owned it in the early 90’s and is responsible for the color. Tom did track events with it at Bridgehampton during his ownership. The car changed hands in the mid 90’s and was campaigned in both vintage and PCA racing at tracks including LRP, WGI, Sebring and Daytona and other tracks. The HSR log book shows an entry for Sebring in 2008. The PCA logo book shows class wins in three races in 2007 at Daytona. The current owner developed it further, racing it in PCA and vintage races at LRP, WGI, Thompson Conn. and Mt Tremblant. He competed in the Vintage Fall Festival at LRP with it until 2017, achieving a few podium finishes during that time. The car was very competitive and always finished in the top 10. In 2018, upon retiring from racing, the owner had the body restored and converted from an RS clone as raced to a 911ST hot rod for the street. During his ownership, the car was completely updated mechanically and had a 2.7 twin plug custom built race engine installed that is in the car today. Automobile Associates of Canton Conn. has done all the mechanical and body work on the car since acquired.
